Captain Juan Cook slaughtered the tuna today!

This seasons grand finale in San Quintin is on right now. It is wide open tuna here in San Quintin. For those that are not here in San Quintin fishing you are missing out on some crazy tuna fishing.

Captain Juan Cook had a few days off from fishing due to lack of anglers. Juan went out today with Mitchell, Mike and Bob. They were fishing 11 miles off the point in 70 degree water for a wide open tuna bite. They came back with limits of yellow fin tuna to 26 pounds and one albacore to 34 pounds. They stopped off at the 210 fishing spot where they picked up limits of big reds for a day of wide open awsome fishing. Half of the tuna were caught on the troll and the other half were caught with live sardines.

Sir Captain Juan says that this type of fishing will be around for a while, the water is hot and the weather is warm. So come to San Quintin and fish our waters.

Other boats out fishing today also came back in with limits of tuna.

Captain Juan Cook took out Dave Glinn, Thom Brown and John Scanlon out for a day of Halibut fishing. Since the past two days have been great inside the San Quintin bay for Halibut they decided to fish there. They ended up landing a huge Black Seabass.

Captain Juan took the guys over to the halibut spot when they had a bite. They started reeling in. Thom actually hooked it and it tired him out after a half hour, so Dave took over for another half hour, John wanted to try as well so he tried reeling it in for 20 minutes and finally Dave (OGD) took over and after 10 minutes he got it on the boat. The Black Seabass towed them for about three miles inside the bay.

Along with the black seabass they also caught limits of halibut to 10 pounds.

Yesterday the guys went out to the open ocean and caught limits of rock cod.

Thumbs up boys.

And Don't forget Don Eddie still has some waterfront lots for sale!

Presidents weekend

Ron Tinney, Ian Tinney and Erin Meister of San Diego caught limits of rock cod both days they went fishing.
Their friends from the San Diego Anglers Club were off having a blast catching and releasing calico bass all day. Capt. Juan Cook took out some guests and within an hour they had caught
10 rockcod but had to come in as one of the guests became ill.
